Turtuk is a small village in Nubra Valley, Ladakh, located near the Line of Control between India and Pakistan. It is one of the northernmost villages of India and is known for its Balti culture, traditional lifestyle, and scenic surroundings.
The village is surrounded by mountains and apricot orchards, and it lies along the Shyok River. Turtuk became part of India in 1971 after the Indo Pakistan war and was opened to tourists in 2009.
